William Catching

After graduating from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 1990, William “Bill” Catching moved to Aurora to work as a reporter at The Beacon-News. He served as an assistant chief of staff at the City of Aurora, director of development at the Fox Valley United Way and, more recently, as a freelance writer and marketing consultant. He has 3 children: Caleb, Zoe and William.

In March 2008, he was nominated for the Aurora Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Volunteer of the Year award for his volunteer work on their golf outing. He has served as a board member of Communities in Schools, Fox Valley United Way, the Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council, Aurora Cease Fire, West Aurora Volunteers for Education and the A+ Foundation for West Aurora Schools. He is serving his third term as township Supervisor and previously served on the township’s Board of Trustees from 2008-2013.
