Owens will serve the remainder of the term of Juan Reyna, who resigned last month for personal reasons.<br><br>Owens, 45, of North Aurora, has worked at the Aurora Township Highway Department since 2010. He was first hired as recycling coordinator and later promoted in 2012 to serve as Deputy Commissioner. <br><br>In addition, he has served as Deputy township Clerk for many years and was appointed to fill the unexpired township Clerk term after the passing of Ken Christy in 2016.<br><br>Prior to working at the Road District, Owens worked in the mortgage industry.
