Aurora Township is seeking snow removal contractors for a pilot program for approximately 90 low income seniors and disabled persons. A mandatory pre–bid meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Monday December 10 at the township offices, 80 N. Broadway, Aurora. Proposals are due by noon on December 19. As part of the pilot program, Aurora Township will be offering the service to the approximately 90 residents who have qualified for our lawn mowing services, said Township Supervisor Bill Catching. “We hope to expand our lawn mowing services as well as the snow removal program next year thanks to the successful passage of the senior services referendum earlier this year,” Catching said. “We are thankful for the opportunity to provide services that will allow seniors to remain in their own home.” Snow removal contractors will be expected to plow driveways as well as remove snow from front steps or ramps and sidewalks/walkways. Contractors must also have $2 million in liability insurance and present a certificate of insurance with the township named as additional insured.
